How do I set the settings of the shopping cart?

All cart settings are at the top of the single PHP script. Settings include the store name, email addresses, the path for saved orders and the text messages that are displayed to the customer.

How do I change the look and feel of the shopping cart?

The display of all cart pages is based on HTML templates in the templates folder. There is a main page template, and a success page and a failure page template. The format of emails is also based on templates. More information is available on the Templates page.

How do I setup the cart for use with my payments provider?

The cart is pre-configured to use WorldPay payments and comes with payment form templates for a variety of PSP's including ePDQ, WorldPay, Secure Trading, PayPal, and NoChex. We can also help you with configuring your cart to use any of the payment processors in this list at no extra charge.

The interface between the cart and your PSP is controlled using a template in which tokens are replaced with cart values. View the source code of these remplates to see how this works:

pay_now.htm is the template for the payment form for your main payment processor.
pay_pal.htm is the template for the payment form for PayPal

Can you help with using payment processors?

We will help you configure your cart to use any of these payment processors at no charge:

Authorize.Net
LinkPoint
Protx
SecPay
Skipjack
Trustcommerce
Verisign

Where do I specify my WorldPay installation ID?

In the main payment processor payment form template pay_now.htm

Where do I specify my PayPal email address?

In the PayPal payment form template pay_pal.htm

How will I be notified of new orders?

You will receive email notification from the shopping cart of every order, whether or not the order has been successfully paid for.

You will also receive email notifications from your PSP, and you should only ship orders when you get an email from the PSP as well as the cart.

Emails from the PSPs are typically a summary email only, with the order number and amount. For the complete order details including each item in the basket, you need to refer back to the email from the PHP Shopping Cart.

Cart orders can also be stored in a discreet location on the web server, so that you can review order online even when there is a network failure or email problem which prevents delivery of an order notification email.

Can I link directly to the checkout page?

Yes. By default, the customer details entry form is not displayed until the customer presses the 'Checkout' button. To force the display of the customer details entry form, add the following parameter to basket links:

&go=Checkout

where 'Checkout' is the label on your Checkout button. The label on your Checkout button is defined in your cart settings with this line:

$btnText_Checkout = 'Checkout';

Example Link direct to the checkout page

/shop/?c=PROD-002&go=Checkout

Can I link to directly to the payment pages?

Yes. To bypass the basket and customer details entry form altogether, add the following parameter to basket links:

&go=PayPal

where 'PayPal' is the label on the button corresponding to the payment option you want to force.

Example Link directly to the payment pages

/shop/?c=PROD-002&go=PayPal
